Course Outcomes:

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Understand and apply momentum equation
  • Understand and explain Hydrodynamic Machines
  • Explain difference between impulse and reaction turbines
  • Find efficiencies, draw velocity triangles
  • Explain governing mechanisms for hydraulic turbines
  • Explain working of various types of pumps, draw velocity diagrams, do simple calculations
  • Design simple pumping systems
