Course Outcomes:
After learning the course, the students should be able:
- To construct a curve by least squares method
- To analyze the data based on large and small sample sizes
- To determine an interpolating function for data
- To solve initial value problems
Unit I
Solution of Algebraic and Transcendental Equation: Bisection method, Method of false position, Newtons method and Newton-Raphson method, approximate solution of equation – Horners method.

Differentiation and Integration: Newton-Cortes formula, Trapezoidal rule, Simpson one-third rule, Simpson three-eighth rule, Weddles rule.
