Course Outcomes:

The students will be able to:

  1. To describe basic structure and operation of a digital computer.
  2. To design fixed-point and floating-point addition, subtraction, multiplication & division and other arithmetic unit algorithms.
  3. To describe the different ways of communicating with I/O devices and standard I/O interfaces.
  4. To analyze the hierarchical memory system including cache memories and virtual memory.
  5. To describe pipelining and its Hazards
  6. To Explain the Pentium processor Hardware design

Basic Structure of Computers: Functional UNIT computer, Difference between CO & CA. System Bus, Data Types, Instruction Cycle, Instruction cycle with interrupt 04 CO1
