Disaster Management, Policy and Administration: Disaster management: meaning, concept, importance, objective of disaster management policy, disaster risks in India, Paradigm shift in disaster management. Preventive and Mitigation Measures: Pre-disaster, during disaster and post-disaster measures in some events in general, Structural mapping: Risk mapping, assessment and analysis, sea walls and embankments, Bio shield, shelters, early warning and communication. Non Structural Mitigation: Community based disaster preparedness, risk transfer and risk financing, capacity development and training, awareness and education, contingency plans. Theory Examination:
- Question paper will comprise of 6 questions, each carrying 20 marks.
- Total four questions need to be solved.
