CONVENTIONAL MATERIALS AND THEIR PROCESSING & NEED OF NEW MATERIALS Body design concepts with a focus on light weighting, Considerations in the use of Steel and Aluminium for car bodies. Evolution of casting technology, extrusion and sheet forming for making of car bodies for hatchback, utility vehicles, racing cars and heavy vehicles. Theory Examinations:
Internal Assessment for 20 marks: Consisting Two compulsory class tests First test based on initial 40% of the content and second test based on remaining content (but excluding contents covered in Test I). End Semester Examination: Weightage of each module in end semester examination will be proportional to number of respective lecture hours mentioned in the syllabus.
