Design Process: Design opportunities, steps in product and Process design, Environmental protection, Safety considerations, Engineering ethics, Role of computers.

Unit II

Molecular Structure Design: Introduction, Property estimation methods, Optimization to Locate molecular structure. Process Creation: Introduction, preliminary Database Creation, Experiments, preliminary Process Synthesis, Development of Base-Case Design.
