Introduction:
Definition, Concentration, Classification, Emission Sources Behavior and Effects of air pollution, Temperature lapse rates, Plume behavior. Dispersion of air pollutants, the Gaussian plume model.
Unit II
Air pollution sampling and measurement:
Types of sampling and measurement, Ambient air sampling, Gaseous air pollutants, Analysis of air pollutants, like Sulphur dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon Monoxide, Oxidants and zones, Hydrocarbons, Particulate matter.
