Conducting and Superconducting Materials: Band theory of solids, Classical free electron theory of metals, Quantum free electron theory, Density of energy states and carrier concentration, Fermi energy, Temperature and Fermi energy distribution, Superconductivity, Factor affecting Superconductivity, Meissner effect, Type-I and Type-II superconductors, BCS theory, Josephson effect, High temperature superconductors, Application of superconductors ( Cryotron, magnetic levitation. 5hrs
