Laboratory shall comprise of:
- Minimum six exercises on the following in the form ofdesign calculations.
- Single stage gear box design including gear box housing.
- Single cylinder petrol engine.
- Single cylinder diesel engine.
- Design of single-plate clutch
- Design of multi-plate clutch
- Design of Brake.
- Design of cam and follower
- Design of Flat – belt and V- belt with pulley construction
- Design of Roller chain
- Design and detailed assembly drawing of minimum two design problems, from the following.(Computer aided drawing on A- 3 size sheets).
- Single stage gear box design including gear box housing
- Single cylinder petrol engine.
- Single cylinder diesel engine.
- Design of single-plate clutch
- Design of multi-plate clutch
- Course project: Students in a group of two to four will be able to design and prepare working drawings of any automotive component by applying the knowledge gained during the course.
The distribution of marks for lab work shall be as follows:
- Exercises &CAD Drawing Sheets : 15 Marks
- Course Project : 05 Marks
- Attendance (Theory & Practical. : 05 Marks
The final certification and acceptance of Lab work ensures the satisfactory performance of laboratory work and minimum passing in the term work. NOTE: Use of standard design data books like PSG Data Book, Design Data by Mahadevan, and Design data by Kale Khandhare is permitted at the examination and shall be supplied by the institute. End Semester Practical/Oral Examination:
- Pair of Internal and External Examiner should conduct practical/viva based on contents Distribution of marks for practical/viva examination shall be as follows:Practical performance 15 marks Oral 10 marks
- Evaluation of practical examination to be done based on the experiment performed and the output of the experiment during practical examinationStudents work along with evaluation report to be preserved till the next examination
