Course outcomes:
At the end of the course, students will be able to
- Sketch various components of air conditioning systems with their function.
- Conduct the performance test for air conditioning system of vehicle.
- Prepare a layout of air conditioning system of passenger car, luxury bus.
- Explain the latest trends in automotive refrigeration systems.
- Demonstrate the skill foor fault finding and maintenance of air conditioning systems.
List Of Experiment:
– (Experiment 1, 2, 3 and 10 are compulsory and perform any four from remaining)
- Demonstration of different components with the help of cut sections/models/charts-Compressor, Condenser, Evaporators, Expansion device, Blower fans, Hating systems etc.
- Test on vapor compression test rig.
- Test on air conditioning test rig.
- Demonstration of various methods of goods transport refrigeration systems.
- Study and demonstration on car and bus air conditioning system.
- Study of latest trends in automotive refrigeration systems.
- Study and demonstration of controls in refrigeration.
- Study of installation/operations/maintenance practices for refrigeration systems.
- Study of leak testing and leak detection methods.
- Visit to maintenance shop of automotive air conditioning and prepare report on it.
