Book-Keeping 1.1 Concept of Business, Owner and types of ownership, Role of outsiders in business transactions. 1.2 Revenue (Sale of Packaged & Customised Tour, Auxiliary services – Individuals, Group & Corporate Clients), Expenses (Tour, Office, Marketing, Miscellaneous), Receivables (Assets) and Payables (Liabilities) recognition. 1.3 Meaning and objectives of book-keeping. Concept of cash and accrual system. 1.4 Merits and demerits of Single entry and Double entry book-keeping. Appropriateness of double entry system.

Ledger & Cash Book 3.1 Ledger – meaning, format, posting transactions, balancing ledger and interpretation of balance drawn. 3.2 Cash – meaning and motives of holding cash. Types of Bank account with features. Concept and types of Cheques, Demand Draft, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Bank overdraft and Cash credits. Online Transfer (RTGS, NEFT, UPI). 3.3 Distinction between Cash Discount, Trade Discount and Allowance (meaning, nature, purpose, category, book entry). 3.4 Cash book and types – Single, Double (with Cash and Bank Column), Analytical Petty Cash Book (under imprest system). Tour & Travel Operating Cost. 4.1 Cost – meaning, types with features and units of cost, classification of operating cost as investment, standing and running. 4.2 Calculation of profit and commission on the basis of total cost and sales price (net takings). 4.3 Preparation of operating cost sheet for tour, bus and taxi operations. 4.4 Quote the tour price for trips, wedding, etc on the basis of per person, per tour, per kilometer, per day or for the given condition.
