Rationale

Medical laboratory instruments play a diagnostic role in modern pathology laboratories. This course exposes the students to medical laboratory standard protocols and quality control measures so that they will implement these for conducting various tests on samples of blood and urine.

Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning

  1. Follow safety guidelines, standard protocol, and quality control measures in the medical laboratory.
  2. Operate basic laboratory instruments such as PH meter, Glucometer, Autoclave, Hot air oven etc.
  3. Analyse blood,Urine, protein samples using colorimeter and Spectrophotometer.
  4. Handle semi and fully automated flame photometer and analyzers in Hi-tech laboratories.
  5. Estimate Protein and DNA from different specimens using Electrophoresis and Chromatography.
