Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning

  1. Analyze fashion history and key movements to forecast future trends.
  2. Develop design concepts and supporting boards through research and theme exploration.
  3. Design garments, create patterns and manage manufacturing and quality control.

Fashion History and Trend Forecasting 1.1 Study of Fashion History: Evolution of Fashion Through Different Eras( Indian and Western), Concept of Decade Study, Major Fashion Designers and Movements(Haute Couture, Punk etc.,)(IKS). 1.2 Fashion Forecasting: Concept of Fashion Forecasting, Roles and Responsibilities of Fashion Forecaster, Steps in Developing a Forecast, Types of Fashion Forecast.

  • Conduct a market survey to identify trendy fabric swatches, colors and style lines.
  • Compare the styles, consumer preferences, and key designers from two different regions
  • Create a storyboard inspired by historical or epic stories.
  • Explore and create a collection of garments or accessories using recycled or eco-friendly materials.

Visit

  • Attend a cultural festival to design an outfit and create a mood board with photos and descriptions of traditional garments.
  • Visit to any Indian heritage/cultural places such as palace, temples, lands, caves and giant arches etc. Collect the inspirations and develop a mood board with their keywords.
