Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning

  2. Create various costume styles inspired from the Eastern and Middle east costumes.
  3. Design various costume styles inspired from the North Indian costumes.
  4. Design various costume styles inspired from the South Indian costumes.

Unit I

Prominent Western Ethnic Costumes. 1.1 European women’s costumes – Corsets, Engageantes, Panniers, Polonaise Style, Sack Gown, Betsy, Bloomers, Crinoline, Coats and Capes, Robe, Hobble Skirts. 1.2 European men’s costumes – Knee Breeches, Trousers, Coats, Ditto Suits, The Dandy, Trench Coats, Polo Shirts, Gaucho Pants, Baggy Jeans, Bell bottoms. 1.3 European accessories – Parasols, Reticule, Snuff boxes, Walking stick, Jockey Boots, Bowler, Deerstalker cap, Bonnets, Top hat, Fobs. 1.4 American women’s costumes – Cloaks, Leggings, Skirt, Western Dress, Hoop skirts, Ruffled or lace-trimmed blouses, Colonial Dress. 1.5 American men’s costumes – Breechclout, Cowboy attire, Suspenders, Flannel Shirt, Varsity Jacket, Zoot Suits, Jeans. 1.6 American accessories – Turquoise jewelry, Silver jewelry, Bolo ties, Concho belts, Quillwork, Heishi necklace.
