Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning

  1. Select relevant tools and shading techniques for various drawings and sketching.
  2. Draw fashion figures, advanced poses and gestures for men, women, and kids.
  3. Render different fabrics, patterns, textures, and fabric draping elements.

Basic Drawing Techniques 1.1 Introduction to drawing tools: types of pencil, colour, pen, ink and art paper. 1.2 Basic Shading Techniques: Hatching, Cross-hatching and Blending 1.3 Selection criteria for different sketching tools and raw materials.

Micro Project / Self Learning

Micro project

  • Explore Indian traditional dance forms and collect photographs of attire worn in them.
  • Drape garments on dummy in different ways and take photographs for report preparation.
  • Collect photographs of different poses of fashion models from fashion shows.
  • Compile sketches of various facial expressions of men, women and kids.
  • Collect photographs of fashion models and draw poses.

Assignment

  • Render different poses of western and Indian fashion models
  • Compare draping styles of Saris in any three states of India
  • Render facial expressions of men/women/kids from northeast/South India/Central India.

Activities

  • Survey nearby garment markets and observe the fabric texture and prints, take samples, and prepare a report.
  • Analyze the wardrobe designing practices of two designers.
