The detailed syllabus of digital communication lab is as follows.<\/p>\n<h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To give hands on experience to implement digital modulation techniques, active filters and TDM.<\/li>\n<li>To introduce the electronic components used in digital communication.<\/li>\n<li>To enrich on various encoders for digital transmission with minimum error.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Build circuits to implement digital pulse modulator.<\/li>\n<li>Model various digital modulation techniques<\/li>\n<li>Develop circuits to implement sequence generator, channel coding and multiplexer<\/li>\n<li>Construct circuits to implement various active filters<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Construct a simple sampling circuit and observe the waveforms. 2. Reconstruct a sine wave from its samples<\/li>\n<li>Build a pulse code modulator circuit and observe the waveforms<\/li>\n<li>Develop a delta modulator and observe the input-output waveforms<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Model a Binary Amplitude Shift Keying (modulator &amp; demodulator) and observe the input-output waveforms<\/li>\n<li>Model a Binary Frequency Shift Keying (modulator &amp; demodulator) and observe the input-output waveforms<\/li>\n<li>Model a Binary Phase Shift Keying (modulator &amp; demodulator) and observe the input-output waveforms<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Construct a two channel TDM circuit (Multiplexer and Demultiplexer) and observe the waveforms.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a Pseudo Random Binary Sequence(PRBS) generator and observe output<\/li>\n<li>Design and Construct an even parity code generator circuit to detect and correct error<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Construct an active first order low pass filter and plot its frequency response<\/li>\n<li>Construct an active first order high pass filter and plot its frequency response<\/li>\n<li>Construct an active band pass filter and plot its frequency response<\/li>\n<li>Open ended experiment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Suggested Open Ended Projects<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can-do open-ended experiments as a group of 3-5. There is no duplication in experiments in between groups. This is mainly for the purpose of continuous internal evaluation and a score of 15 marks.
