The detailed syllabus of virtualisation technology and cloud computing lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide practical exposure to the basics of Virtualization Technology and Cloud Computing.<\/li>\n<li>Extend Web Development, Network &amp; System Administration skills in Cloud Computing Platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Experiment with Hypervisors and Virtual Machines<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with the installation of Guest OSs on VMs and its configuration<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with Management of computer resources for a VM and configure network between VMs<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with Cloud IaaS and PaaS<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Install VMWare Workstation Player<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize VMWare Workstation Player<\/li>\n<li>Install VirtualBox<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize VirtualBox<\/li>\n<li>Create Virtual Machine on VMWare<\/li>\n<li>Create Virtual Machine on Virtual Box<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Install Windows on a Virtual Machine (VMWare)<\/li>\n<li>Install VMWare Tools for above installation<\/li>\n<li>Configure USB Port<\/li>\n<li>Configure Shared Folder<\/li>\n<li>Install Linux on a Virtual Machine (VirtualBox)<\/li>\n<li>Install VirtualBox Guest Additions for above installation<\/li>\n<li>Configure USB Port<\/li>\n<li>Configure Shared Folder<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Manage CPUs for a VM<\/li>\n<li>Manage Memory for a VM<\/li>\n<li>Manage Storage for a VM<\/li>\n<li>Manage Network for a VM<\/li>\n<li>Copy a VM<\/li>\n<li>Configure Network between two VMs (VMWare)<\/li>\n<li>Configure Network between two VMs (VirtualBox)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Create account and familiarize control panel of Google Cloud \/ AWS \/ Microsoft Azure or any other cloud service provider<\/li>\n<li>Create VMs on Cloud<\/li>\n<li>Install LAMP Stack on one VM and test from other VM and also from host machine.<\/li>\n<li>Open-ended experiment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Suggested Open-Ended Experiments<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open-ended experiments as a group of 2-3. There is no duplication in experiments between groups.
