The detailed syllabus of environmental engineering lab ii is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To enable the students to apply the water treatment methods for drinking water and effluents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Practice the removal of hardness from water<\/li>\n<li>Practice the treatment of effluent water<\/li>\n<li>Practice heavy metal removal from effluent water.<\/li>\n<li>Practice colour removal from effluent water.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove temporary hardness from water.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the removal efficiency of temporary hardness.<\/li>\n<li>Remove permanent hardness from water.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the removal efficiency of permanent hardness.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Estimate the amount of dissolved oxygen in given effluent sample.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the COD of given effluent sample.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the BOD of given effluent sample.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the COD and BOD of given effluent sample by. chemical precipitation.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the percentage removal of COD<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the percentage removal of BOD<\/li>\n<li>Open ended experiments<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Estimate the amount of hexavalent chromium in given sample.<\/li>\n<li>Remove hexavalent chromium from given sample by chemical precipitation.<\/li>\n<li>Estimate the percentage removal of chromium from given sample.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Estimate the colour and then remove the colour from given effluent water by adsorption.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 22nd Edition ; Eugene W.
