The detailed syllabus of electric and hybrid vehicles lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To develop basic knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>To understand the working of electric motors, controllers and batteries.<\/li>\n<li>To perform servicing of electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify the different configurations of electric and hybrid vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of testing of electric motors used in electric and hybrid vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of charging and testing of batteries used in electric vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Make use of servicing procedure on electric and hybrid vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Demonstrate the power train layout of electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Identify the different configurations of electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Develop a comparison chart of petrol, diesel, electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Apply the procedure of overhauling of dc motor, ac motor, Brushless dc motor, and permanent magnet synchronous motor<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of testing of dc motor, ac motor, Brushless dc motor, and permanent magnet synchronous motor<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the operation of speed control in dc motor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Demonstrate the operation of Rectifiers, Inverters, DC\/DC converters and Power Split devices for Hybrid Vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of charging techniques of batteries used in electric vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of testing on batteries<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the operation of regenerative braking<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Demonstrate the electric wiring circuit of electric two wheeler<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of servicing of electric two wheeler<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the electric wiring circuit of electric three wheeler\/four wheeler<\/li>\n<li>Apply the procedures of servicing of electric three wheeler\/four wheeler<\/li>\n<li>Plan the maintenance schedule of electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Suggested Open Ended Projects<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 2-3.
