The detailed syllabus of woven design lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To impart the basic knowledge on woven fabrics and development of designs for the construction of fabric.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Understand the basic classification of fabrics.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare interlacement diagram and various ornamentations of woven fabrics.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the basic elements of textile designs &amp; Fabric sample development<\/li>\n<li>Practicing CATD system and develop patterns and designs on paper<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Classification of fabrics &#8211; Woven, Nonwoven, Knitted and Braided fabrics.<\/li>\n<li>Identify warp and weft threads, selvedge, weaving method and machine required for producing the fabric.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Interlacement diagram &#8211; Warp way and weft way<\/li>\n<li>Graphical representation of structure of a woven design.<\/li>\n<li>Ornamentation of elementary weaves-Structural ornamentation &amp; Decorative ornamentation<\/li>\n<li>Decorative ornamentation &#8211; by using colour -stripe, cross over, check patterns)- by using yarns of different count.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Undrstanding of elements of Textile Design. Draw Design, Draft, Peg plan, Prepare Tie-up and Treadling plan.<\/li>\n<li>Practice Drawing- in and denting for elementary Designs &amp; understand the role of healds &amp; reeds.<\/li>\n<li>Practice the construction of fabrics of different Designs using table looms or sample looms<\/li>\n<li>Extracting fundamental details like ends and picks per unit space (inch), count of warp and weft.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Understand the development of Textile designs using CATD and prepare draft, pegplan by CATD<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of stripe &amp; check patterns with different colour combinations using CATD &amp; collect different samples on paper.(print outs) Textiles with their details.<\/li>\n<li>Develop dobby &amp; Jacquard figures using CATD System.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Walton&#8217;s Advanced Textile Design by Z.
