The detailed syllabus of electrical machines lab ii is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To comprehend the performance of synchronous machines.<\/li>\n<li>To understand synchronization of alternators.<\/li>\n<li>To comprehend the performance of induction machines.<\/li>\n<li>To understand the starting methods of induction motors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop the performance characteristics of three phase induction motors<\/li>\n<li>Develop the no load performance\tof a synchronous generator<\/li>\n<li>Construct the performance characteristics of synchronous machines<\/li>\n<li>Identify the performance of single phase Induction motors<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>1. Identify and collect the name plate details of induction motor 2. Identify the parts of a squirrel cage and slip ring induction motors. 3. Familiarize starters for three phase induction motors.<\/li>\n<li>Start a three phase induction motor and determine its slip at various loads.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct load test on three phase induction motor and plot various curves .<\/li>\n<li>Draw the equivalent circuit of a three phase induction motor by conducting no load and blocked rotor tests<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>1. Identify and collect the name plate details of synchronous generator. 2. Identify the parts of synchronous generator.<\/li>\n<li>Run an alternator at different speeds with constant field current and measure the frequency and voltage in each case.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-determine regulation of three phase alternator by EMF method.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-determine regulation of three phase alternator by MMF method.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine the regulation of an alternator at various power factors by conducting direct load test .<\/li>\n<li>Synchronize a three phase alternator with existing power supply using various methods (dark lamp \/ bright lamp \/ synchronoscope)<\/li>\n<li>Construct the V and Inverted V curves of synchronous motor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>1.Identify the parts and terminals of a single phase induction motor 2.Run a single phase induction motor in forward and reverse directions.<\/li>\n<li>Develop the performance characteristics of a single phase induction motor by conducting load test<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>BL Theraja.
