The detailed syllabus of smart device programming lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarize the software tools for mobile applications.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the development of mobile applications.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce the future trends in development of mobile applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Set up an environment to develop android applications<\/li>\n<li>Make use of user interfaces in Android applications<\/li>\n<li>Develop Android based database applications<\/li>\n<li>Make use of HTML5.0 and JavaScript in mobile applications<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Set up Android Studio in Windows\/ Ubuntu<\/li>\n<li>Create custom Android Virtual Device(AVD) &amp; Emulate device with different screen size<\/li>\n<li>Implement a simple application and execute using emulator and mobile<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Implement a program to toast a message.<\/li>\n<li>Implement programs for linking activities, data passing between activities using Intent<\/li>\n<li>Implement programs using Linear, Relative, Table, Absolute, Frame layouts<\/li>\n<li>Design GUI using TextView, EditText, Button, RadioGroup, RadioButton and CheckBox<\/li>\n<li>Implement a program to integrate a website inside the application using Webview<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Implement a program to save data using the SharedPreferences Object<\/li>\n<li>Implement a program to save data to Internal Storage as files<\/li>\n<li>Implement a program to insert data into SQLite database<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Create simple HTML5 applications<\/li>\n<li>Implement web based applications using HTML5,CSS and JavaScript<\/li>\n<li>Open Ended Experiments **<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Suggested Open Ended Experiments<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 2-3.
