The detailed syllabus of computer hardware lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the hardware components of a computer.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the peripheral devices outside computer.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the software running on a computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Familiarize components of a computer system<\/li>\n<li>Assemble PC from components<\/li>\n<li>Interface with parallel ports.<\/li>\n<li>Interface with serial ports.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Familiarization of the components \/ Cards<\/li>\n<li>Familiarization of standard connectors, cords and different ports<\/li>\n<li>Familiarization of various computer peripherals<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Assemble PC from different components<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Interfacing LEDs, 7 segment display devices, relays, sensors etc. &#8211;<\/li>\n<li>Testing of simple logic gates using parallel port<\/li>\n<li>Data transfer to the printer by direct access of Data transfer to the printer by direct access of parallel port registers<\/li>\n<li>PC to PC data transfer using parallel port<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Finding the base addresses of COM ports in a system<\/li>\n<li>Data acquisition through COM port using ADC chip<\/li>\n<li>Serial communication between two computers using BIOS serial port services<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Note:<\/i><br \/>\n Experiments shall be conducted such that all COs are attained.<br \/>\nMinimum of 6 experiments (excluding open ended experiments \/ micro projects) shall be performed.<br \/>\nCompulsory for CIA<br \/>\nThe CIA shall be arranged in third semester by the faculty in charge.TheESE need to be conducted at theendof thethird semester.\n<\/p>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>&#8220;Computer Hardware: Installation, Interfacing, Troubleshooting and Maintenance&#8221;
