The detailed syllabus of structural engineering drawing lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide hands-on experience with the basic concepts in structural engineering.<\/li>\n<li>To apply the collection of sectional requirements to detailing and prepare the bar bending schedule of different RCC structural members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To illustrate the concept of limit state design and detailing of RCC beams and slabs.<\/li>\n<li>To illustrate the concept of limit state design and detailing of RCC columns, footings and stairs.<\/li>\n<li>To illustrate the concept of limit state design and detailing of tension and compression steel members.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Sketch cross section, strain diagram &amp; stress diagram for singly reinforced section.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch cross section, strain diagram &amp; stress diagram for doubly reinforced section.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the sectional properties and sketch the detailing of a singly reinforced beam and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the sectional properties and sketch the detailing of a one-way slab and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the reinforcement details of a two-way slab, corners held down and not held down and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Summarize the provisions of IS 456 required for the design of a column.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the reinforcement detailing of the circular and square column and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the sectional properties and sketch the detailing of an isolated column footing and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Draw sketches of the plan and longitudinal section &#8211; Staircase &#8211; dog legged and open well showing all the details and dimensions (A typical structural drawing may be adopted.)<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a detailed report of site visit for reinforcement detailing of structural elements like beams, columns, staircase &amp; footing and prepare bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the detailing of a cantilever retaining wall and prepare its bar bending schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Summarize the clauses from IS 800 required for the design of a compression member and submit it in report form.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the single &amp; double lacing of given built up columns.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the battening of the given built up column.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a report on the IS 800 provisions pertaining to design of lacing &amp; battening.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the elevation and cross-section of a plate girder<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the beam &#8211; column connection.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch the elevation and plan of a Gusseted base of a column.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Shah, V.
