The detailed syllabus of advanced surveying lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To impart training to the students to apply tacheometry to find heights and distances.<\/li>\n<li>To develop skills in using Total Station &amp; advanced surveying instruments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine heights and distances by tacheometry<\/li>\n<li>Set out circular curve on field<\/li>\n<li>Apply Total station in field survey works.<\/li>\n<li>Apply GPS survey in field works .<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine the values of stadia constants of the given instrument.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the horizontal distance and elevation of objects by stadia tacheometry.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the distance and elevation of various objects by tangential tacheometry.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the gradient of line joining two points by stadia and tangential methods.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Set out simple circular curve<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Perform the temporary setting of total station<\/li>\n<li>Prepare site plan by traversing with total station<\/li>\n<li>Determine gradient, difference in height, distance etc between inaccessible points using total station<\/li>\n<li>Plot Contour plans using total station<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Utilize GPS to find out coordinates (longitude and latitude) of a station<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Punmia, B.C,; Jain, Ashok Kumar; Jain, Arun Kumar, Surveying I, Laxmi Publications., New Delhi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Reference Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Basak, N.
