The detailed syllabus of biomedical instrumentation lab i is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide hands-on experience for the students to impart the circuit level knowledge of various biomedical equipment using for diagnosis and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>To enable the students to pick up body signals using standard equipment.<\/li>\n<li>To equip student to operate analytical instruments used in clinical labs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Implement circuit which simulate ECG, detect QRS and ECG telemetry system.<\/li>\n<li>Acquire and identify body signals using ECG, EEG, EMG recorders and multiparameter monitor.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct experiments using colorimeter, pH meter and Hb meter<\/li>\n<li>Measure blood pressure and conduct audiometry test using suitable machines.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Set up the ECG Simulator circuit and generate the output waveform<\/li>\n<li>Implement QRS Detector and generate output waveform<\/li>\n<li>Implement modulation and Demodulation circuits of ECG biotelemetry using IC 4046<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Acquire ECG signal in bipolar lead configuration using ECG machine.<\/li>\n<li>Plot ECG in 12-lead system using ECG simulator.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate EEG machine and 10-20 electrode placement in a subject<\/li>\n<li>Acquire EMG signal and observe muscle fatigue using EMG machine.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and document body parameters using parameter monitor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct experiment to verify Beer Lambert&#8217;s Law using colorimeter<\/li>\n<li>Calibrate pH meter using standard solution<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate of Hb meter<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Measure blood pressure using sphygmomanometer<\/li>\n<li>Measure blood pressure automatic BP apparatus and compare with sphygmomanometer reading.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct audiometry test using audiometer and plot graph.<\/li>\n<li>Open Ended Experiments<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Suggested Open Ended Projects<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 4-5. There is no duplication in experiments between groups. Students should prepare the user&#8217;s manual using suitable software.
