The detailed syllabus of introduction to it systems lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarize the students with basic functions and features of Computer, Operating system and Internet applications.<\/li>\n<li>Enable the students in preparing documents, spreadsheets and presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Provide the basic programming skills in Python.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Utilize the basic functions and features of computer, Operating System and Internet applications.<\/li>\n<li>Make use of Stand-alone and Cloud-based office tools to prepare documents, spreadsheets and presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Develop algorithms and flowcharts for solving simple problems.<\/li>\n<li>Develop Python programs to solve simple problems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<p>Experiments<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Demonstrate basic functions of Computer, various Computer Hardware Components, ports\/interfaces and related cables.<\/li>\n<li>Identify operating system functions, file &amp; directory management Commands.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize web browsers, search engines, email and other web portals for familiarizing internet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<p>Experiments<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Outline the features of Open Office software<\/li>\n<li>Make use of Open Office writer to prepare documents<\/li>\n<li>Make use of Open Office Calc to prepare spreadsheets<\/li>\n<li>Make use of Open Office Impress to prepare presentations<\/li>\n<li>Make use of cloud-based office tools to prepare documents, spreadsheets and presentations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<p>Experiments<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop algorithms and flowcharts &#8211; sequence, selection and iteration<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<p>Experiments<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop Python programs with interactive input &amp; output and simple arithmetic expressions<\/li>\n<li>Develop Python programs using simple if, if-else, nested if statements with relational and logical operators<\/li>\n<li>Use iterative programming constructs in Python to solve problems<\/li>\n<li>Open Ended Projects<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Sample Open Ended Projects<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 2-3. There is no duplication in experiments between groups.)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Prepare a project report consisting of 10 pages. The report must include Cover Page, certificate, and table of contents, images, tables etc and email to faculty in charge as attachment.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a presentation of the topics covered in Introduction to IT Systems Syllabus.
