The detailed syllabus of automobile electrical and electronics lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To understand the complete procedure of dismantling, cleaning, and inspection, fault finding\/rectifying and reassembling of components of automobile electrical and electronic systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>On completion of the course, the student will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify various tests on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with alternator and starter motor<\/li>\n<li>Identify the various troubles relating to ignition system<\/li>\n<li>Select various wiring circuits of automobile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 1:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Make use of Specific gravity test on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<li>Plan Voltage test on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<li>Utilize Load test on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<li>Apply Electrical drain test on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<li>Apply Electronic conductance test on lead acid battery<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 2:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Experiment with alternator (physical inspection and overhauling)<\/li>\n<li>Make use of voltage output test, current output test and ac leakage test on alternator<\/li>\n<li>Organize testing of alternator stator, rotor and rectifier<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with starter motor (physical inspection and overhauling)<\/li>\n<li>Make use of drop test, control circuit test and starter amperage test on starter motor<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with solenoid, armature and field coil of starter motor.( Inspection and testing)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 3:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop the wiring circuit of ignition system<\/li>\n<li>Organize no start diagnosis of a spark ignition engine<\/li>\n<li>Identify the testing of ignition coil and ignition sensors<\/li>\n<li>Experiment with spark plug<\/li>\n<li>Plan ignition timing setting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Module 4:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify wiring circuits in various vehicles including wiring harness, color codes and cable specifications<\/li>\n<li>Construct wiring of headlight circuit<\/li>\n<li>Build the wiring of horn circuit<\/li>\n<li>Construct the wiring of turn signal circuit<\/li>\n<li>Build wiring of wiper and washer circuit<\/li>\n<li>Construct the wiring of brake light circuit<\/li>\n<li>Build the wiring of power window circuit<\/li>\n<li>Build the wiring of power door lock circuit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Suggested Open Ended Projects<\/h4>\n<p>(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 2-3.
