Metrology Lab detailed syllabus for Tool & Die Engineering (Tool & Die) for 2015 revision curriculum has been taken from the SITTTRs<\/a> official website and presented for the Tool & Die students. Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n

After completion of the study the students will be able to:<\/p>\n

  1. Understand Linear measurement and Calibration<\/li>\n
  2. Practice on angular measurements,pitch, and thread.<\/li>\n
  3. Practice on gauges and comparators.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    LIST OF PRACTICALS IN METROLOGY LABORATORY<\/h4>\n

    (At least 8 Experiments are to be done)<\/p>\n

    1. To measure the length, breath, thickness, depth and height with Vernier Caliper<\/li>\n
    2. To measure the length, breath, thickness, depth and height with Vernier Height Gauge<\/li>\n
    3. To measure the length, breath, thickness, depth and height with Micrometer<\/li>\n
    4. Calibration of Vernier Caliper<\/li>\n
    5. Caliberation of Vernier Heigt Gauge<\/li>\n
    6. Calibration of micrometer<\/li>\n
    7. Caliberation of Dial Gauge<\/li>\n
    8. Work Dialing with Dial Gauge<\/li>\n
    9. Measurement of angle with the help of Sine bar \/ Vernier Bevel protractor<\/li>\n
    10. To measure the diameter of a hole with the help of precision balls<\/li>\n
    11. To measure external and internal tapes with the help of taper gauges, Precision rollers and precision balls<\/li>\n
    12. To measure the pitch, angle and identify the form of thread of a screw<\/li>\n
    13. Check the accuracy of a Plug Gauge with Slip Gauge<\/li>\n
    14. Check the accuracy of a Plug Gauge with Micrometer<\/li>\n
    15. Study & sketch of various types of comparators and use them for comparing length of given pieces<\/li>\n
    16. Study and sketch of various types of optical projectors<\/li>\n
    17. Study of a Tool maker’s microscope<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
