principles of rubber compounding and vulcanisation\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Define compounding and its objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Explain the various steps involved in the design of recipes for product manufacture.<\/li>\n<li>State the importance of base polymer in a compound design.<\/li>\n<li>Explain mastication, masterbatch, gum compound and filled compound.<\/li>\n<li>Justify the curing of elastomers.<\/li>\n<li>Explain the type of crosslinks formed and their effect on vulcanisate properties for sulphur and nonsulphur curing systems.<\/li>\n<li>Distinguish CV, EV, and Semi-EV curing systems.<\/li>\n<li>Explain the chemistry of sulphur vulcanisation.<\/li>\n<li>Select suitable curing systems for Natural and synthetic rubbers based on sulphur and nonsulphur
