The detailed syllabus of heat engines lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Heat Engines Lab<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n  Student Will Be Able To<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Understand the systems of petrol and diesel engines.<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the preparation of valve timing diagram.<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate the load test on engine.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the viscosity, calorific value,flash point, firepoint of fuels &amp; Heat Exchangers<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the working of refrigeration plant and determine C.O.P.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the working of air compressor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>SPECIFIC OUTCOME<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n  MODULE I<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Study the parts and functions of the petrol engine.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the various systems in IC Engines &#8211; intake system, exhaust system, lubricating system , cooling system, electrical system, fuel system &amp; loading system<\/li>\n<li>Conduct different tests on petrol engine &#8211; load test, heat balance test, valve timing diagram, Morse test.<\/li>\n<li>Compare the values, draw various characteristic curves and obtain economic speed &amp; power.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE II<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Study the parts and functions of diesel engine.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the various systems in Diesel Engines &#8211; intake system, exhaust system, lubricating system, fuel system, cooling system.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting different tests on diesel engine &#8211; load test, heat balance test, valve timing diagram.<\/li>\n<li>Compare the values, draw various characteristic curves and obtain economic speed &amp; power.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE III<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Perform the test on lubricating oils.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the viscosity of the given oil.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the flash and fire point of the given oil.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the calorific value of given solid fuels.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the calorific value of the given liquid fuel.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a test on Parallel and counter flow heat exchanger apparatus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE IV<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify the refrigeration plant; study the function of each component.<\/li>\n<li>Performance tests on refrigerators.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the COP of the refrigerator.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the various parts and indicate the functions.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a test on air compressor and determine volumetric efficiency, isothermal efficiency &amp; adiabatic efficiency<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Text Books:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Mechanical Workshop &amp; Laboratory Manual By K.
