The detailed syllabus of hydraulics lab is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Hydraulics Lab<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>GENERAL COURSE OUTCOME<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Understand the pipe friction apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the Orifice apparatus<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate the Notch apparatus (Rectangular, triangular &amp; trapezoidal)<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate the Bernoullis theorem<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate the venturimeter<\/li>\n<li>Understand the minor losses in pipes.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the working of centrifugal pump &amp; reciprocating pump<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>SPECIFIC COURSE OUTCOME MODULE I<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Use Bernoulli&#8217;s theorem apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Apply and verify Bernoulli&#8217;s Theorem<\/li>\n<li>Determine the discharge measurement through orifice and notches and to plot the curve between Co efficient of Discharge (Cd) and Discharge (Q).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE II<\/p>\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Calculate the co efficient of discharge(Cd) using venturimeter and plot the curve between and Head(H)<\/li>\n<li>Use the pipe friction apparatus to determine the coefficient of friction<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE III<\/p>\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Study the various turbines<\/li>\n<li>Find the efficiency of various turbines<\/li>\n<li>Plot the characteristic curves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  MODULE IV<\/p>\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Conduct experiment and find out hydraulic efficiency and overall efficiency of centrifugal pump and reciprocating pump<\/li>\n<li>Plot the characteristic curves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>MODULE I<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Verify the Bernoulli&#8217;s theorem using the apparatus<\/li>\n<li>Conduct the tests on orifice and notches\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Determine the coefficient of discharge of different orifices and notches<\/li>\n<li>Calibrate the notches and orifices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>MODULE II<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct the test on Venturimeter.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Determine the coefficient of discharge of the Venturimeter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Conduct the test on pipe friction apparatus.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Determine the friction factor using Darcy&#8217;s formulae of pipes of varying cross section .<\/li>\n<li>Plot TEL and HEL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>MODULE III<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct the tests on Pelton turbine, Francis turbine and Kaplan turbine.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Operate the turbines.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate the brake power and overall efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Plot the various characteristic curves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>MODULE IV<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct the tests on centrifugal pump and reciprocating pumps.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Operate the pumps<\/li>\n<li>Caculate the various efficiency of the pumps<\/li>\n<li>Plot the various characteristics curves<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Reference Books:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>K C John &#8211; Fluid mechanic laboratory experiments &#8211; PHI Learning Pvt.
