Course Objectives:
- To design web sites using WordPress.
Course Outcomes:
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- To make use of Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS
- To develop web pages and posts
- To integrate plugins on WordPress site to add different functionalities.
- To familiarize the copy and deployment of Website in different environments.
Module 1:
- Identify WordPress in LAMP environment
- Access WordPress Dashboard, Navigating in WordPress Dashboard
- Identify Main WordPress Settings
- Familiarize Categories in WordPress (Add, Edit, Delete and Display category)
- Identify Tags in WordPress (Add, Edit, Delete Tags)
Module 2:
- Identify with WordPress Posts
- Identify with WordPress Pages
- Identify with WordPress Media
Module 3:
- Identify with WordPress
- Install plugin using Search
- Install plugin using Upload
- Install plugin using FTP
Module 4:
- Identify types of Hosting
- Identify with WordPress Hosting
- Develop a simple e-commerce website using WordPress
Suggested Open-Ended Experiments:
(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation). Students can do open-ended experiments as a group of 3-5. There is no duplication in experiments in between groups. This is mainly for the purpose of continuous internal evaluation and a score of 15 marks. Students should prepare a separate report on open ended experiment of their choice.
