- Explain Biomedical Instrumentation system and Biopotential Electrodes
- Explain various therapeutic equipments.
- Describe the principle and working of imaging techniques such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Thermal and Ultrasound
- Describe patient monitoring, biotelemetry and safety systems related to biomedical instrumentation.

Overview of Biomedical Instrumentation system: Block diagram – Types of biomedical instruments: Analytical, Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Surgical Instruments – Electrical classification of Biomedical Instruments. Role of Biomedical equipment technician – Development of Biomedical Instrumentation, biometrics – Sources of Biomedical signals – Problems encountered while performing Measurement of living organisms. Bioelectric potentials – examples (ECG, EEG, EMG, ERG, EOG, EGG, etc.) – Bio potential electrodes – theory – microelectrodes – skin surface electrodes – needle electrodes Transducers for biomedical applications (brief discussion of basic principles of force, displacement, velocity, acceleration and pressure transducers).
