Course Objectives:

  • To provide hands on training and practical aspects of management of banking operations and practical aspects of Income Tax and GST.

Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the basic banking services and documents.
  2. Apply the practice of marketing of banking services products.
  3. Apply the basic Income tax provisions.
  4. Demonstrate GST registration.

Module 1:

  1. Discussion on Banking structure, services &current trends in order to familiarize with the present banking scenario.
  2. In depth discussion on KYC norms which banks have to compulsorily adhere to along with documents required for this purpose.
  3. Demonstrate filling up of KYC forms.
  4. Discussion on various documents normally used to open different types of Deposit Accounts, loan application forms and demonstrate how to fill it up.
  5. Practice on e-banking with live examples.
  6. Filling up of different banking instruments like cheque, pay-in-slip,NEFT.

Module 2:

  1. Discussion on different banking channels.
  2. Role play of selling different types of products to the customers.
  3. Demonstration on how to provide customer service and how to maintain good relationship with the customers.

Module 3:

  1. Group discussion on tax structure, tax system in India and current income tax slab and tax rate for individuals.
  2. Familiarize the concepts of assessment year, previous year, and assesse.
  3. Identifydifferent heads of income under Income Tax Act.
  4. Demonstrate the PAN application under Income Tax Act.
  5. Demonstrate the Form 16 to be issued by Employer.
  6. Practice the filing of income tax return by an individual under ITR-1

Module 4:

  1. Discussion on GST network and salient features of GST.
  2. Demonstrate how GST helps in price reduction.
  3. Demonstrate the procedure of registration under GST and documents required for registration.
