Course Objectives:

  • To impart skills to design, develop simple web pages
  • To develop static and dynamic web pages.
  • Understand the development of websites with database support.

Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course student will be able to:

  1. Develop simple web pages using HTML
  2. Develop web pages using JavaScript & CSS
  3. Construct dynamic web pages using PHP
  4. Design and develop simple websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP & Database

Module 1:

  1. Develop simple HTML pages using Basic HTML & formatting tags
  2. Make use of HTML lists, embedding hyperlinks and multimedia objects in a web page.
  3. Demonstrate the use of Tables & Frames in HTML page
  4. Develop web pages with Forms and its controls

Module 2:

  1. Develop web pages using Inline, Embedded and External Style Sheets
  2. Apply CSS properties – font, color, background, list, link, text, border in web pages
  3. Implement JavaScript in web page & event handling using JavaScript
  4. Implement form validation using JavaScript

Module 3:

  1. Develop simple web applications using control structures in PHP
  2. Make use arrays to develop web applications
  3. Illustrate Form Data Retrieval using PHP
  4. Implement session & cookie management using PHP

Module 4:

  1. Implement PHP script to establish connection with Database
  2. Implement PHP script to execute SQL statements
  3. Implement PHP script to process record sets.
  4. Design and develop a complete database driven web application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP & Database.
  5. Open ended project

Sampled Open Ended Projects

(Not for End Semester Examination but compulsory to be included in Continuous Internal Evaluation. Students can do open ended experiments as a group of 2-3. There is no duplication in experiments between groups. Open ended experiments should include the concepts of HTML, CSS ,JavaScript &PHP)
