Course Objectives:
To develop the ability to design microcomputer-based embedded systems. This class allows students to learn microcomputer interfacing from both a hardware and software perspective.
Course Outcomes:
On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Make use of AVR studioto exercise simple programs
- Develop embedded C programs to interface various sensors and motors
- Realize interfacing of display devices, keyboard and ADC/DAC converters
- Realize I2C and SPI Communication interfaces with AVR
Module 1:
- Familiarize AVR studiofor AVR programming
- Develop programs for LED blinking
- Read the status of a switch and display it on an LED
- Develop programs to drive a load using Relay
- Make use of AVR tointerface optocoupler.
Module 2:
- Realize Temperature sensor interfacing with AVR
- Demonstrate interfacing of Humidity sensor with AVR
- Demonstrate DC Motor interface with AVR
- Illustrate Servo Motor Interfacing with AVR
- Realize Stepper Motor Interfacing with AVR
Module 3:
- Realize Seven segment display interface with AVR
- Demonstrate LCD interfacing with AVR
- Illustrate Matrix Keyboard interfacing with AVR
- Realise ADC/DAC interfacing with AVR
Module 4:
- Familiarize I2C and SPI interfacing with AVR
- Develop programs for Real time clock interfacing
- Demonstrate ADC interfacing using I2C
- Demonstrate DAC interfacing with I2C Applying
