Course Objectives:

  • To provide hands on experience with the different advertising media, buying space, copywriting, creation of advertisements understanding various themes and appeals.

Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate advertisement appeals used in worldwide brands
  2. Apply ad copywriting guidelines – preparing a newspaper ad.
  3. Exhibit the functioning of an ad agency.
  4. Construct an outdoor advertisement.

Module 1:

  1. Outline the various types of advertising with examples.
  2. Illustrate various ad appeals with real brands.

Module 2:

  1. Understand ad copywriting
  2. Prepare a newspaper ad for a given product/service

Module 3:

  1. Understand the role and types of ad agencies
  2. Prepare a presentation on the functioning of a real life ad agency

Module 4:

  1. Identify various outdoor advertising media.
  2. Prepare an outdoor advertisement.
  3. Open Ended Experiments
