Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Prepare the part & assembly drawings of Hand injection moulds, compression moulds, transfer moulds& blow moulds.
  2. Prepare detailed drawings of Two plate moulds.
  3. Demonstrate the design concepts and detailed drawings of advanced moulding techniques.
  4. Prepare detailed drawings of Die casting dies.

Module 1:

  1. Apply skills in drafting and modeling in any of the above two software.
  2. Sketch a single cavity hand injection mold -Part drawings & Assembly
  3. Sketch compression molds showing horizontal & vertical flash
  4. Sketch Plunger & Pot transfer Molds.
  5. Sketch a simple blow mold

Module 3:

  1. Design split cavity injection mould with sleeve ejection
  2. Design split cavity injection mould with dog leg cam.
  3. Design mould with split cores – (angular acting)
  4. Design concept of Three plate molds with multi-impressions.
  5. 3D Modeling and drafting shall be done by using any of the above-mentioned software.

Module 4:

  1. Design a Die Casting Die for a cold chamber system.
  2. Design a Die casting Die for a hot chamber system.
  3. 3D Modeling and drafting shall be done by using any of the above-mentioned software.
