Course Objectives:

• To provide hands on experience in financial accounting with the help of an accounting software package – Tally & Microsoft Excel.
• To be able to track and manage accounts, cash flow & fund flow, inventory management etc. that are used in running a business.

Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

1. Construct Bank reconciliation statements and perform Interest Calculation using Tally
2. Implement the calculation of GST using Tally
3. Implement Ratio analysis, cash flow & fund flow analysis using excel
4. Create capital budgeting decisions using Excel

Module 1:

1. Implement setting up of multiple currencies & foreign exchanges.
2. Create Bank Reconciliation Statements
3. Practice Interest Calculations

Module 2:

1. To enable GST and defining tax details
2. Transfer of closing balance of input tax credit to GST
3. Recording inward supply of goods
4. Recording outward supply of goods and generating GST invoice.

Module 3:

1. Practice Preparation of Ratio Analysis sheet.
2. Practice Preparation of different types of ratios i.e. current ratios, liquid ratio, and solvency ratio.
3. Practice Preparation of cash flow and fund flow statement.

Module 4:

1. Practice the preparation of NPV, IRR and ROI
2. Practice in preparation of inventory management and EOQ.
3. Open ended experiments
