Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course, Student will be able to:

  1. Understand mounting, balancing and dressing of grinding wheel on a grinding machine.
  2. Produce flat surface using surface grinder.
  3. Perform operations on a cylindrical grinding machine to produce internal and external surfaces.
  4. Perform the finishing operations on the punch holding plate, punch and die plate by using files.
  5. Grinding /Sharpening cutting tools such as single point tools, drill bits, milling cutters etc.

CONTENT OUTLINE

  1. Practice on Surface grinding machine
    1. Mounting, balancing and dressing of grinding wheels
    2. Grinding flat surface on a surface grinder
  2. Practice on Cylindrical Grinding Machine (Cylindrical Grinding of internal and external surfaces)
  3. Bench Work
    1. Filing of punch holding plate, punches, Die plate and assembly
  4. Practice on Tool and cutter Grinder

(Grinding of single point tools, Grinding of Drill bits, Grinding of milling cutters)
