MODULE I GENERAL PURPOSE SYNTHETIC RUBBERS

  1. To Understand the preparation , properties and applications of general purpose synthetic rubbers.
  2. Identify various general purpose synthetic rubbers.
  3. Explain the monomer, monomer preparation, polymerisation, raw polymer properties, compounding, curing , vulcanisate properties and applications of SBR.
  4. Explain the monomer, monomer preparation, polymerisation, raw polymer properties, compounding, curing , vulcanisate properties and applications of BR.
  5. Explain the monomer, monomer preparation, polymerisation, raw polymer properties, compounding, curing , vulcanisate properties and applications of IR
  6. Explain the monomer, monomer preparation, polymerisation, raw polymer properties, compounding, curing , vulcanisate properties and applications of IIR.
  7. Explain the monomer, monomer preparation, polymerisation, raw polymer properties, compounding, curing , vulcanisate properties and applications of EPM and EPDM.
