Course Outcomes:

On completion of the course student will be able to:

  1. Make use of the basic programming concepts -sequential, conditional, and looping structures in C.
  2. Develop programs using the concept of arrays and strings to solve real world problems.
  3. Develop programs using modular approach to solve problems more efficiently.
  4. Construct the programs using structure and pointers

Module 1:

Basics of Structured Programming: – Structured programming approach, Algorithm and flowchart with examples, pseudo code. Program Basics: – Features of C, Structure of a C program:-character set, variables, constants, identifiers, data types, formatted input/output functions. Operators, expressions, precedence of operators. Control flow statements: Selection/Branching statements (if, if-else, else-if, switch), Iteration/Looping statements (while, do-while, for), goto, break and continue statements. Programming examples

Functions: – Modular programming, functions in C, formal and actual parameters, pass by value, pass-by reference, passing arrays to a function, recursion. Storage classes. Programming examples.

Structure:- Definition, variable declaration, accessing structure members, array of structures. Programming examples Pointers: – Concept, Declaration, Initialization, Array access using pointers, array of pointers -Programming examples.
