Course Outcomes:
- Familiarize with the reactions of the acid radicals.
- Familiarize with the reactions of the basic radicals.
- Analyse simple salts

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
MODULE I
- Understand the reactions of the following acid radicalsCarbonate, Sulphide, Sulphite, Sulphate, Thiosulphate, Nitrate, Fluoride, Chloride, Bromide iodide, Acetate, Oxalate, Phosphate, Borate and Chromate.
MODULE II
- Understand the reactions of the following basic radicalsChromium, Cobalt, Nickel Silver, Lead, Mercury, Copper, Cadmium, Bismuth, Arsenic, Antimony, Tin, Iron, Aluminium,, Zinc, Manganese, Calcium, Barium, Strontium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Ammonium and Magnesium.
MODULE III
- Analyze simple salts (minimum of 8 salts)The salts given for qualitative analysis should: –
- be soluble in water or dilute acids or conc. HCl
- contain one acid radical and one basic radical
- not involve elimination of interfering acid radicals
MODULE IV
- Analyze binary mixturesThe mixture given for qualitative analysis should
- be soluble the water, dilute acids or conc. HCl
- contain two acids and two basic radicals
- not involve elimination of interfering – acid radicals
