Engine, Hydraulic turbine, hydraulic pump, Air compressor etc. and also understand the various processes that can be performed on a lathe machine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>List of Experiments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Draw the valve timing diagram of a 4-stroke diesel engine and port timing diagram of a 2-stroke petrol engine.<\/li>\n<li>Perform load test on a 4-stroke C.I. Engine and draw the performance curves.<\/li>\n<li>Pattern design and making \u2013 for one casting drawing.<\/li>\n<li>Taper turning and thread cutting on a Lathe machine.<\/li>\n<li>Performance on an Impulse\/Reaction Hydraulic Turbine.<\/li>\n<li>Performance of Centrifugal\/Reciprocating Pump.<\/li>\n<li>Find the volumetric efficiency, isothermal efficiency of an Air compressor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The student will be able to predict the performance of several mechanical components and operate a lathe machine to produce the required job work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Section B: Electrical Engineering Laboratory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong>: This course imparts knowledge to the students<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to learn the estimation of efficiency of a DC machine as motor &amp; generator.<\/li>\n<li>to learn the estimation of efficiency of transformer at different load conditions &amp; power factors.<\/li>\n<li>to study the performance of a 3-Phase induction motor by conducting direct test.<\/li>\n<li>to pre-determine the regulation of an alternator by Synchronous impedance method.<\/li>\n<li>to understand the speed control of a DC shunts motor.<\/li>\n<li>to study the performance of a DC shunts motor by conducting direct test.<\/li>\n<li>The following experiments are required to be conducted as compulsory experiments:<\/li>\n<li>Swinburne\u2019s test on D.C. Shunt machine. (Predetermination of efficiency of a given D.C. Shunt machine working as motor and generator).<\/li>\n<li>OC and SC tests on single phase transformer (Predetermination of efficiency and regulation at given power factors)<\/li>\n<li>Brake test on 3-phase Induction motor (Determination of performance characteristics)<\/li>\n<li>Regulation of alternator by Synchronous impedance method.<\/li>\n<li>Speed control of D.C.
