Working and operations of lathe, Drilling, Shaper, slotter, Planner, milling machines \u2013 Capstan and turret lathes \u2013 copying lathes \u2013 surface finishing operations \u2013 Honing, lapping, super finishing, electro plating, metal spraying. Basic components of NC, CNC, and DNC machines \u2013 FMS and robotics, CNC part programming- Manual and Computer assisted <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unit II: Welding, Forging, Foundry and Conventions in drawing Equipment used in arc and gas welding. Modern welding methods \u2013 Submerged arc, atomic, hydrogen, CO2, and ultrasonic welding. Forging processes and tools &#8211; Cold and hot working processes. Pattern types \u2013 types of molding sand and their properties &#8211; Defects in casting and welding. Conventions in machine drawing \u2013 production drawing \u2013 limits, fits &amp; Tolerances \u2013 surface finish \u2013 Specifications of standard components like Bolts, Nuts, Bearings etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unit III: Engineering Materials, and Solid Mechanics Mechanical properties of materials \u2013 Destructive and Non destructive testing of materials, Production of Iron and Steel \u2013 Iron Carbon equilibrium Diagram &#8211; Heat treatment processes \u2013 Plain Carbon and alloy steels \u2013 Ferrous and Non ferrous metals and alloys \u2013 Powder metallurgy .
