JNTUK B. Tech Metrology & Machine Tools Lab for R13 Batch.

JNTUK B.Tech Metrology & Machine Tools Lab gives you detail information of Metrology & Machine Tools Lab R13 syllabus It will be help full to understand you complete curriculum of the year.

Note: minimum of 6 experiments from each section

Objective: This practical course covers the topics related to precession measuring instruments and the working and operations of various machine tools.

Section-I
METROLOGY LAB

  • Measurement of lengths, heights, diameters by vernier calipers, micrometers etc.
  • Measurement of bores by internal micrometers and dial bore indicators.
  • Use of gear tooth vernier calipers and checking the chordal thickness of spur gear.
  • Machine tool alignment test on the lathe.
  • Machine tool alignment test on milling machine.
  • Angle and taper measurements by bevel protractor, Sine bars, etc.
  • Use of spirit level in finding the straightness of a bed and flatness of a surface.
  • Thread measurement by two wire/ three wire method & tool makers microscope.
  • Surface roughness measurement by Talysurf.

Section-II
MACHINE TOOLS LAB

  • Introduction of general purpose machines -lathe, drilling machine, milling machine, shaper, planing machine, slotting machine, cylindrical grinder, surface grinder and tool and cutter grinder.
  • Step turning and taper turning on lathe machine
  • Thread cutting and knurling on -lathe machine.
  • Drilling and tapping
  • Shaping and planning
  • Slotting
  • Milling
  • Cylindrical surface grinding
  • Grinding of tool angles.

Course Outcome: After completing the course the student will be able to operate various procession measuring instruments and working and operations of various machines tools.
