Course Objective: To impart practical exposure on the performance evaluation methods of various flow measuring equipment and to establish the theories of fluid mechanics through experimental
methods.

  1. Calibration of Venturimeter
  2. Calibration of Orifice meter
  3. Determination of Coefficient of discharge for a small orifice by a constant head method
  4. Determination of Coefficient of discharge for an external mouthpiece by variable head method
  5. Calibration of contracted Rectangular Notch
  6. Calibration of contracted Triangular Notch
  7. Calibration of rectangular weir
  8. Determination of Coefficient of loss of head in a sudden contraction and friction factor
  9. Verification of Bernoulli’s equation
  10. Determination of friction factor for a given pipe line
  11. Reynolds experiment to determine the type of flow
  12. Calibration of pitot tube
