Course Objectives:<\/strong> To learn sanitary and hygienic aspects in the context of a number of social institutions and processes.<\/p>\n Course Outcomes:<\/strong><\/p>\n UNIT I :<\/strong> Epidemiology \u2013 Principles of protecting the environmental sanitation measures, Inspect and Rodent Control, community sanitation measures \u2013 sanitation of camps, festivals, schools, swimming pools etc.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n UNIT II :<\/strong> Food and milk sanitation, hotel management with reference to sanitation \u2013 food preservation, pasteurization methods and plants. Housing need \u2013 lighting and ventilation, natural and artificial provisions.<\/p>\n UNIT III :<\/strong> Solid wastes \u2013 characteristics, collection, disposal by landfill, composting, incineration and other methods. Handling and disposal of Hazardous Wastes.
