I Year I Sem\r\n<strong>Prerequisite: Power Systems -II<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>Course objectives:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>To identify the different aspects of Extra High Voltage A.C and D.C Transmission design and Analysis<\/li>\r\n \t<li>To understand the importance of modern developments of E.H.V and U.H.V transmission systems.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>To demonstrate EHV ac transmission system components, protection and insulation level for over voltages.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Course Outcomes:<\/strong> Upon the completion of the subject, the student will be able to\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>List the necessity of EHV AC transmission, choice of voltage for transmission, line losses and power handling capability.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Estimate the Statistical procedures for line designs, scientific and engineering principles in power systems.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Construct commercial transmission system.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>UNIT- I:<\/strong> E.H.V.A.C. Transmission line trends and preliminary aspect standard transmission voltages \u2013 Estimation at line and ground parameters-Bundle conductor systems-Inductance and Capacitance of E.H.V. lines \u2013 positive, negative and zero sequence impedance \u2013 Line Parameters for Modes of Propagation.\r\n\r\n<strong>UNIT- II:<\/strong> Electrostatic field and voltage gradients \u2013 calculations of electrostatic field of AC lines \u2013 effect of high electrostatic field on biological organisms and human beings &#8211; surface voltage gradients and maximum gradients of actual transmission lines \u2013 voltage gradients on sub conductor.\r\n\r\n<strong>UNIT- III:<\/strong> Electrostatic induction in unenergized lines \u2013 measurement of field and voltage gradients for three phase single and double circuit lines \u2013 un energized lines.
